Ruby is a very sweet girl. She is loving and is very willing to learn. She is green broke, but not stupid. I started her under saddle in January 2008 and she is doing great. I am not a trainer so she doesn't know much. She knows whoa, but she doesn't know go lol I bought her for my three young children so she's been basically giving pony rides around the yard. She is very calm when some one is on her back. I ride her before my children get on her and she has never offered to kick, rear, buck or bite. My children spoil her and because of this she allows them to touch her anywhere and walk under and around her. I can do the same. She was 2 yrs old when I bought her and never seen by a farrier but she does not try to kick our farrier. She will try to pull her feet away every once in a while but that's it. She had also never been inside a trailer before before I bought her. We are working that and she is coming along well. She will stand for mounting and grooming. But she does not like to just stand tied, she will dig. She gets along with other horses, cats, pigs, goats and dogs-(as long as they don't try to bite her). But even then she wont kick, she'll try to run away. When on her back and a dog comes after her she tenses and stops and some times prances a bit. She is getting used to being fly sprayed, but she is still iffy on the feel of the spray landing on her. She's never been bathed because of the cooler weather we've had since I got her but she a little water shy. She is fast in the pasture so she may do good as a barrel horse. But she's young enough to be finished in any discipline. I will not say that she is bombproof or kid safe because of her age and the fact that she's still learning. But she is very calm. She comes when called and will fallow you around in the pasture. If you have any questions, silly or not, please contact me. I have tons of pictures of Ruby, being ridden and out in the pasture.
