Melania ("Smidge") is a very correct Hanoverian filly with excellent conformation; she should finish at 16-16.1hh. She was rated as one of the top two foals at her registration. Her movement is light and flowing with lots of suspension and great balance. Also, from her first turnout at three 3 days old she has displayed a natural love and talent for jumping.
Melania was born and raised in a busy riding/show barn so she is very well socialized with people and other horses. She has always been extremely friendly, affectionate and curious; she loves attention, grooming, etc.
This filly is a wonderful Dressage, Hunter or Jumper prospect. She also has potential as a broodmare as her sire Maurice is a known producer of excellent quality broodmares.
Maurice (Matcho X) won his Stallion Licensing with 9's for walk, trot and canter and best character in show. He stood at the State Stud in Celle prior to his importation to Canada in 1998. Maurice himself has had a very successful show career as an advanced level Dressage horse in both Europe and Canada. He sires horses with exceptional movement, temperament and excellent rideability.
Melania's Dam Mirror Image is by Mattgold who carries the Dressage bloodlines of Matrose, Marcio XX and Duft II, as well as the jumping lines of Atos and Gote. Mattgold stood at the State Stud in Celle prior to his importation to Canada. He produces horses with superb temperament, movement and rideability. Mattgold sired Tom Dorvak's horse, Micha.
