| Notes : |
Beau has been a racehorse off and on for 5 years. We bought him 2 years ago (after a 1 year layoff from a bowed tendon) and started him in hunter training. He worked well on the flat and started through trot poles and free jumped crossbars. The more fit he got the more he wanted to be back on the track, so that's exactly where he went. He won one and got a 2nd, but it wasn't enough to pay his bills. After a two month layoff, he is now back in hunter training and doing great. He has jumped some crossbars and worked over flower boxes. His mindset seems to be more geared for jumping now. The tendon has never been a problem, not even while we raced him. He does need an experienced rider because every now and then he gets a little stirred up if he doesn't understand what is being asked of him. This horse is a wonderful mover with a huge stride. I believe once he learns the game he'll be a great hunter or jumper.
